Staying at: Akasha Mountain Retreat.

Sometimes you just want to take a break from normal life. Sometimes you just want to drive several hours into the countryside to get away from it all and leave everything behind. Computers, cellphones, emails, traffic. And that's exactly what I did.

Akasha Mountain Retreat is the perfect balance - remote enough to feel as if you have escaped the hustle and noise of everyday life. But not to the point where you think you have left civilization (and home comforts) behind. Noise is certainly one thing you wont encounter here. I took my iPod with initially for some music but found that I didn't use it even once as the silence and sounds of nature were just too comforting for me. I was fortunate enough to get taken on a tour of the area by friendly and welcoming owner Chris, where I managed to see some of the wildlife in the area, but this was the most strenuous thing that I did. The rest of my time was spent relaxing - which was difficult not to do in an environment like this.
